What Is the Bay Selection Algorithm?
The Bay Selection Algorithm defines how Teelogix automatically assigns bays to customers when they make a booking.
Instead of having to manually select a bay, venue operators can choose a predefined logic that controls how bays are allocated—streamlining the process and reducing scheduling conflicts.
Available Options
You can select one of the following bay assignment rules:
- Sequential
Bays are filled in order. For example, Bay 1 is assigned first, then Bay 2, and so on.
Use this if you want to maximize occupancy starting from the lowest-numbered bays. - Random
Bays are assigned randomly across available options.
Useful if you want to distribute usage evenly and avoid wear on specific bays. - Reverse
Bays are assigned in reverse order. For example, Bay 10 is used first, then Bay 9, and so on.
This is helpful if you want to reserve lower bays for walk-ins or VIP customers.
Where to Set It
- Go to Settings > Booking Settings
- Scroll down to the Bay Selection Algorithm section
- Use the dropdown to choose your preferred logic
- Save your changes
Once saved, the system will follow your selected algorithm for all future auto-assigned bookings.
